Questions and answers

Is Japa Chronicles free?

Yes, the game is free to play, and so are the destinations it launched with. Some new destinations will cost money. You can also buy titles and outfits, which only change how you look. Nothing you buy with real money makes a run easier or harder.

What do I need to play?

A web browser on a phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to download. On slower phones the game offers a lighter mode.

Do I need an account?

No. You can play as a guest, and your progress stays on your device. Create an account to keep your progress across devices, appear on leaderboards and send ideas to the Big Boss Office.

Will I lose my run if I close the game?

No. The game saves as you play, so you can open it again and carry on where you stopped. With an account, you can also continue on another device.

Is any of this real?

The game is inspired by real visa processes, but it is satire. Fees, numbers and rules are simplified or made up for play. For real decisions, use the official sources on our Real help page.

Does the game teach people to cheat?

No. Shortcuts such as bought documents and bribes are in the game so players can see where they lead: refusals, bans and wasted money. A clean run is the one the game rewards.

What is The Long Road?

A serious, quiet route about irregular migration across the desert, based on real field reports. It shows the real risks and points to real help. You can step away from it at any time.

How do I report a bug or suggest an idea?

Use the Big Boss Office in the game. Other players can confirm bugs and vote on ideas, and we read all of them.

What do you do with my data?

We keep only what the game needs, such as your account, saves and scores. Read the full privacy policy for the details.
